Child nutrition programs, such as the National School Lunch Program, School Breakfast Program, summer and afterschool meals programs, and the Special, Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children (WIC), play a crucial role in ensuring food and nutrition security among the nation’s youth. Given that 7.6% of U.S. households with children experienced food insecurity in 2020 and 14.4 million children and adolescents aged 2-19 have obesity, strengthening the child nutrition programs is more important than ever. Child Nutrition Reauthorization (CNR) provides Congress with an opportunity to reduce hunger and improve the diet and health of millions of children throughout the United States.

Join the Bipartisan Policy Center’s Food and Nutrition Security Task Force as we discuss a series of recommendations aimed at strengthening the child nutrition programs.
