Event Recap: Connecting Health and Housing: Lessons from Philadelphia

The nation’s senior population is set to grow exponentially, with the number of Americans over 65 expected to increase by 18 million in just the next decade. The Philadelphia region reflects this reality. In the past few years the number of older adults in Pennsylvania grew at twice the rate of the total population to reach 2.1 million, the fifth-highest in the United States. This population growth will place unprecedented stress on delivery systems and support networks.

The Bipartisan Policy Center’s
Senior Health and Housing Task Force
aims to advance policy reforms to better position communities to support the increasing and diverse health and housing needs of our nation’s seniors.

BPC partnered with the
Philadelphia Corporation for Aging
for a forum soliciting ideas and best practices from practitioners to support aging in place.
