Small Businesses Matter
Small businesses—the “backbone” of the economy—have long garnered bipartisan support in Washington and statehouses across the country. The Small Business Administration’s (SBA) programs are among the most important to small businesses, including access to capital and government contracting, but other important issues, like taxes and worker benefits, are outside its purview.
To ensure federal policy supports small businesses across that wider range of issues, BPC has outlined a bipartisan small business agenda for 2024 and beyond. This agenda covers access to capital, government contracting, supports for the small business workforce, tax reform for growth and innovation, modernizing small business lending, and AI’s impact on small business.
