BPC Welcomes New UCS Nuclear Power Report

The following is a statement from Bipartisan Policy Center President Jason Grumet:

“The Bipartisan Policy Center welcomes a new report out today by the Union of Concerned Scientists (UCS) about the role nuclear power plays in reducing carbon emissions from the power sector. UCS’s detailed assessment elevates an important dialogue about the most effective approaches to addressing climate change.

“BPC supports policies that broaden the solution set of zero carbon technologies. We also recognize the wide range of perspectives on the role that nuclear power should play in the transition to a low carbon economy. BPC believes that is critical to engage these different viewpoints through an active, open, and evidence-based debate. The UCS report makes an important contribution to this process.”
