Jacquelynne “Jackie” Harris has been working in the election administration space since 1991, having served as the General Registrar/Director of Elections in three Virginia jurisdictions: Lexington City, Albemarle County, and Fairfax County. She received her CERA certification in 2005 from Auburn University and the Election Center and is a past President of the Voter Registrars Association of Virginia.

In addition to local election administration, Jackie has served as the Legislative Policy Director for the West Virginia Secretary of State and as the National Director of Government Services for Democracy Live, an organization focusing on programs to assist military and overseas voters and voters with disabilities across several states.

She has been a guest speaker/panelist for the National Disability Rights Network, the National Federation of the Blind, Smart Cities New York, the National Academies of Science, Engineering and Medicine, and the American Bar Association. She has testified on the topic of voter list maintenance before the U.S. Committee on House Administration, co-hosted a delegation of election administrators from the Arabian Peninsula, and addressed classes at American University, George Mason University, and the University of Virginia, among others. She has served on two election observation missions in Afghanistan.

She currently serves as Nelson County, Virginia’s Chief Deputy Registrar.

Jackie enjoys spending time with her husband, five children and six grandchildren at her home in Schuyler, Virginia where she tries her hand at vegetable gardening, beekeeping, and raising chickens.
