The Future of Health Advisory Board

The Bipartisan Policy Center strives to serve as a resource to policymakers and to develop effective and politically viable solutions to our nation’s most critical health challenges. To inform our work, BPC convened a bipartisan group of 14 leading national health policy experts to advise on a consensus approach to improving health care and public health in the United States.

The Future of Health Advisory Board meets to discuss major current congressional and executive branch health policy actions, assess trends in public opinion identified by our fellows, provide guidance on areas of focus within the Health Program, and most importantly raise the health policy issues they feel are critical to advance in the near term and beyond

This effort builds on BPC’s robust heath care work that began in 2007 under the leadership of its founders, former Senate Majority Leaders Howard Baker, Tom Daschle, Bob Dole, and George Mitchell. In 2017, the Future of Health Care Task Force was established to guide the development of BPC’s February 2020 report, Bipartisan Rx for America’s Health Care, among other products. As the health policy landscape evolved during the COVID-19 pandemic, the group’s membership has expanded to include additional public health experts and to address issues across BPC’s Health Program, recognizing the interconnected nature of our workstreams.
