BPC’s Latest Initiative Explores the Changing Dynamics of the U.S. Presidency

Last week BPC kicked off our Presidential Leadership Initiative with a bipartisan discussion at Decatur House, featuring White House insiders from the current and past four administrations. Held in partnership with the White House Correspondents’ Association and streamed live on C-SPAN.org, the event featured conversations about governing through turbulent times and insights into how each administration governed with:

  • Joshua Bolten, Chief of Staff to President G.W. Bush;
  • Jay Carney, Press Secretary to President Obama;
  • Kellyanne Conway, Senior Advisor to President Trump;
  • Thomas ‘Mack’ McLarty, Chief of Staff and Senior Counselor to President Clinton;
  • Jen Psaki, Press Secretary to President Biden; and
  • Cedric Richmond, Senior Advisor to President Biden.
