Statement from BPC’s Mackler on DAC Hubs Award Announcement
Washington, DC – The following is a statement from Sasha Mackler, executive director of the Bipartisan Policy Center’s Energy Program:
“Today marks an important moment in the advancement of a new class of technologies that can help reduce the risks of climate change. The Department of Energy’s ambitious program to scale direct air capture (DAC) is a giant leap forward for this nascent technology that holds enormous potential to reduce carbon dioxide in the atmosphere and contribute to the achievement of net-zero greenhouse gas emissions by mid-century.
“Supported by bipartisan action in Congress, the DAC Hubs program will put America at the forefront of this emerging new industry. The Bipartisan Policy Center is thrilled to see this first funding milestone.”
