Sasha Mackler, Innovative and Impactful Leader of BPC Energy Program, Announces Departure
Washington, DC – Today, the Bipartisan Policy Center announces that Sasha Mackler, Executive Director of the Energy Program, will leave the organization to take on a new role as Senior Vice President, Global Head of Strategic Policy with ExxonMobil Low Carbon Solutions. Mackler will continue his association with the Bipartisan Policy Center by joining its Energy Advisory Council.
“Sasha’s vision and leadership have enabled the Bipartisan Policy Center to shape the most important energy policies in a generation,” said Margaret Spellings, president and CEO of the Bipartisan Policy Center. “Bipartisanship is key to producing results for the American people and Sasha’s work here provides excellent examples of how to build the trust, credibility, and expertise to do it successfully.”
Under Sasha’s direction, the Bipartisan Policy Center Energy Program played a critical role in advancing numerous policies within Congress and executive agencies, including the passing of landmark legislation like the Energy Act of 2020, the Bipartisan Infrastructure Bill, the Chips and Science Act, and the clean energy tax credits in the Inflation Reduction Act.
“I am excited to take on this new challenge at such an important moment for the energy industry. My time at the Bipartisan Policy Center made this new opportunity possible and I am immensely proud of the accomplishments of our entire BPC Energy team, and deeply grateful to all involved, especially the BPC leadership,” Mackler said. “But I am even more confident that greater things lie ahead, given the tremendously deep talent within the team. Our nation needs affordable and sustainable energy more than ever, and I am certain that the BPC will play an even bigger role going forward.”
Lesley Jantarasami and Xan Fishman will lead the Energy Program following Sasha’s departure and continue to drive its prominent policy agenda and innovation on many cutting-edge issues at the center of the nation’s energy and climate change priorities.
