Washington, D.C. – The reauthorization of the Iran Sanctions Extension by the Senate and House sends a strong signal that the United States will do all it can to prevent a nuclear-armed Iran, Blaise Misztal, national security director at the Bipartisan Policy Center, said.

“The National Security Project at the Bipartisan Policy Center has conducted analysis of the growing threat posed by a nuclear Iran since 2007. The project has consistently stated that a nuclear weapons capable Iran represents a significant threat to the United States and overall stability in the region,” Misztal said.

We believe sanctions are a critical tool to ensure Iran’s continued compliance with the restrictions placed on their nuclear program.
