Bipartisan Policy Center’s Turkey Initiative Co-Chairs and Former U.S. Ambassadors Mort Abramowitz and Eric Edelman to Release Recommendations on Building Greater U.S.-Turkish Cooperation Amid Unstable Middle East

Monday, October 21, 2013

Washington, D.C. – The Bipartisan Policy Center’s (BPC) Turkey Initiative, co-chaired by former U.S. Ambassadors to Turkey Mort Abramowitz and Eric Edelman, will release its first white paper on Wednesday, October 23, analyzing the divergence between U.S. and Turkish interests and the importance of stabilizing Turkey’s domestic politics so it may enhance its influence in the Middle East. The Task Force will unveil recommendations for moving the U.S.-Turkish relationship from rhetoric to reality. Over the past two years, instability in the Middle East has given both the United States and Turkey an important interest in containing and minimizing the spreading instability and chaos. Join BPC co-chairs Abramowitz and Edelman for a discussion on the critical need for both countries to build a strong, cooperative partnership.

The event is open to press. If you are interested in attending, please RSVP to [email protected]. Watch the live webcast here.

The moderator will take questions from the audience and from Twitter. Tweet questions to @BPC_Bipartisan or email [email protected].
