Bipartisan Policy Center to Launch New Personal Savings Initiative

Washington, D.C.- Former Senator Kent Conrad and former Deputy Commissioner and Chief Operating Officer of the Social Security Administration James Lockhart will co-chair a new Personal Savings Initiative at the Bipartisan Policy Center (BPC). The initiative will launch on Wednesday, April 23, in Washington.

The new effort will be supported by a bipartisan commission of nationally recognized experts on personal savings and retirement security. The commission will examine legislative and regulatory policies impacting personal savings and retirement security and how to improve savings rates to meet the retirement goals of Americans. Senator Conrad and Lockhart will detail the initiative’s key goals and objectives, announce the commission members, and take questions from the audience.
