Bipartisan Policy Center and Eno to Host Event on State of Nation’s Air Transportation; Eno To Release New Paper on NextGen Implementation

Washington, D.C. – The Eno Center for Transportation (Eno) and the Bipartisan Policy Center (BPC) will hold a press event this Wednesday, April 4, at 10:00AM to release a new Eno paper, entitled, NextGen: Aligning Costs, Benefits and Political Leadership.

This paper breaks new ground by providing a realistic assessment of the potential costs and benefits of NextGen and a discussion of possible funding options. The presentation of the Eno NextGen paper will be followed by a response to the paper and a discussion of NextGen issues by a panel of top experts from the government and the aviation industry.

Introduction by Gen. Charles Wald, Member, BPC Board of Directors; Director, Deloitte Services LP; and Leader of Deloitte’s Department of Defense Practice, Federal Government Services

Presentation of paper by Eno President and CEO Joshua Schank and Eno 2011 Fellow Sakib Bin Salam.

Respondents’ panel to include: Joe Post, Director of Systems Analysis and Modeling at FAA; Linda Daschle, President of LHD & Associates; BPC Senior Fellow and former Senator Slade Gorton; David Plavin, former President of Airports Council International-North America and member of the Eno Board of Directors; and Jeffrey Shane, former Under Secretary for Policy, U.S. Department of Transportation.
