The memorial services for George H.W. Bush, the nation’s 41st president, caught the nation’s attention this week. It’s been a time to reflect on his legacy. But beyond saying goodbye to a person, there was a sense that we were bidding farewell to a bygone political era that was marked by partnership instead of partisanship.
