Peter R. Fisher co-chairs BPC’s Systemic Risk Task Force. He is a senior fellow at the Center for Global Business and Government at the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth, where he is also a senior lecturer.

Fisher also serves as a senior director of the BlackRock Investment Institute. He previously served as head of BlackRock’s Fixed Income Portfolio Management Group and as chairman of BlackRock Asia. Prior to joining BlackRock in 2004, Fisher served as under secretary of the Treasury for domestic finance from 2001 to 2003, and worked at the Federal Reserve Bank of New York from 1985 to 2001, concluding his service as executive vice president and manager of the Federal Reserve System Open Market Account.

Additionally, Fisher is a member of the board of directors of AIG, Inc., the Peterson Institute for International Economics, and of the John F. Kennedy Library Foundation.

Fisher has earned degrees from Harvard College and Harvard Law School. He is a recipient of the Distinguished Service Award from The Bond Market Association (2004), the Alexander Hamilton Medal from the United States Department of the Treasury (2003), and the Postmaster General’s Partnership for Progress Award, United States Postal Service (2002).
