Marcie Smith serves as an associate director for BPC Action. Prior to joining BPC Action, she worked in various capacities on Capitol Hill with the Louisiana delegation. Most recently, she was a professional staff member with the Select Committee on the Climate Crisis under Ranking Member Garret Graves. She was also a legislative assistant for Senator John Kennedy and Congressman Mike Johnson. In those roles, Smith managed a wide legislative portfolio that included energy, environment, and agriculture policy. Additionally, she supported the Senator’s work on the Senate Appropriations Committee and the Congressman’s work on the House Natural Resources Committee. Before that, she worked for the American Chemistry Council in the state affairs department. A Delaware native, Smith served in the Delaware State Senate and graduated from the University of Delaware with a Bachelor of Science degree in plant science and accompanying minor in political science.
