Kayvan Chinichian

Kayvan Chinichian is the managing director of development at the Bipartisan Policy Center.

Chinichian brings 15 years of experience in fundraising for policy and higher education institutions. He was most recently the senior director of development at California Polytechnic State University (Cal Poly), where he led philanthropic and business development activities for the California Cybersecurity Institute and launched the university’s strategic program, Cleared for Success.

Throughout his career, Chinichian has built development operations and systems while simultaneously managing various funder portfolios, including individuals, corporations, and foundations. He worked at several DC-based policy research institutions, including the Truman Center for National Policy/Truman National Security Project, Center for a New American Security (CNAS), Atlantic Council, and the Washington Institute for Near East Policy (WINEP).

Chinichian earned his Master of Arts in Middle East Studies from the George Washington University’s Elliott School of International Affairs (ESIA) and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo.
