Elena Muehlenbeck is BPC’s Chief Financial Officer, responsible for the day-to-day financial management and operations of the organization. Muehlenbeck, who previously served in a number of roles at BPC’s – Vice President, Finance and Operations, Director of Finance, Controller – has more than 20 years of financial management experience in the nonprofit sector. Prior to joining BPC, she served as the Assistant Controller at the New America Foundation, where she focused on supporting all aspects of accounting, business, and operations efforts. Previously, Muehlenbeck worked as an Accounting Manager at the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation, and as an Accounting Analyst at the United Nations Foundation.

Muehlenbeck earned her Bachelor’s degree with honors in Linguistics and Intercultural Communication from the State Nizhny Novgorod Linguistics University in Russia and her Master’s Degree in Management with a concentration in Accounting from University of Maryland University College. Additionally, she completed an Executive Program for CFOs at the Graduate School of Business at Stanford University.
