Collier Fernekes is a project assistant for BPC’s Health Program. Prior to joining BPC, Fernekes worked with a clinical team at an interventional management pain clinic in Birmingham, Alabama. Upon moving to D.C., she joined the private sector in healthcare, where she vetted and hired nurses to work with pediatric patients in home health cases.
Fernekes received her B. A. in political science from the University of Alabama at Birmingham and with a concentration in American political theory and public policy. Throughout her college career, she worked with UAB’s 1917 clinic, volunteering at community health fairs to test local participants for HIV, and educating the public about available health resources. She is currently working toward her masters in community health education.
