Best Practices for Family Child Care Facilities: Supporting Our Youngest Learners
This guide is a companion piece to BPC’s 2021 report, Moving Towards Quality: Model Improvement Standards for Existing Center-Based Child Care Facilities. Within this guide, best practices are identified for family child care programs to achieve healthy, safe, and engaging physical environments. The intention is to provide states and local policymakers guidance so they can in turn allocate resources to ensure such best practices are achievable for family child care providers. States and municipalities supporting the implementation of these best practices will help ensure young children are in safe, developmentally-appropriate settings.
