The country is changing—becoming older, more educated, and more racially diverse. These demographics changes have had a profound impact on the Democratic and Republican parties and will continue to transform them going forward into the future. On the cusp of the 2020 primary season, we will explore how the demographic composition of the parties have changed, how they will continue to change, and how those changes will influence the parties’ internal politics and electoral strategies.

Join BPC, in partnership with the Brookings Institution, Center for American Progress, and Democracy Fund Voter Study Group for a look at how demographic shifts are transforming the Republican and Democratic parties. New simulations chart the ever-changing electoral landscape for Republicans and Democrats and foreshadow what could happen in the 2020 primaries and general election.
