Small businesses and entrepreneurs have provided two-thirds of all net new jobs since the Great Recession and remain vital to economic growth and innovation. On the morning of President Trump’s State of the Union address, the Bipartisan Policy Center is holding an event where small business owners, members of Congress, and government and financial experts will discuss how to make sure Main Street succeeds as an engine of American economic growth and job creation.

Small business owners participated with their stories about starting their businesses and the financial hurdles they face. Emerging fintech industry, post-crisis financial regulation, and data gaps in the small business lending space were also topics of discussison.
