In recent years, the claim that immigrants take jobs from Americans has become a central flashpoint in the national immigration debate. To provide greater clarity on this issue, the Bipartisan Policy Center’s Immigration Project commissioned a study over whether increases in immigration impact the employment rates of American workers. The study found that increases in foreign workers correspond with a rise in the employment rates of native-born workers, suggesting that immigration benefits American workers across the country.
