It’s been a volatile time for the housing market these last few years. At the end of 2022, some economists declared a “housing recession” due to higher mortgage rates causing a decline in sales. At the same time, a structural deficit of homes for both sale and rent continued to drive up housing costs, keeping topline inflation high even as the cost of other goods decreased.

So, what’s in store for 2023?  What are the prospects for the housing market and affordability? To answer these questions, please join Jeff Tucker of Zillow and Yelena Maleyev of KPMG as they examine the present and future state of the housing market’s homebuying and rental sectors.
