The political landscape has shifted significantly in the year since BPC’s Commission on Political Reform (CPR) released recommendations to improve the legislative process, strengthen our electoral system, and encourage Americans to serve their communities. Republicans control both houses of Congress, President Obama is in his final two years in office, and the 2016 presidential election is already shaping up. BPC launched its Healthy Congress Index in April 2015 to track how well Congress is functioning and adhering to the commission’s reforms.
BPC released the second installment of the index and hosted a discussion of the work that remains to be done on CPR’s recommendations.
