More than half of Americans receive their health care coverage through an employer and generally indicate strong satisfaction with their benefits. While employers continue to rapidly move toward programs to keep workers well and meet their evolving needs, they have also had to grapple with ever-rising health care spending, which increased to $4.1 trillion in 2020—more than double the rate of growth from the year before. They have also faced significant challenges related to the COVID-19 pandemic. Join BPC as our panel of health policy experts and stakeholders discusses the role of employer-sponsored insurance in the U.S. health care system, as well as current challenges and opportunities moving forward.
