Private Investment in Infrastructure: Advancing Our Competitive Edge

Marriott Richmond Downtown
500 East Broad St.
Richmond, VA 23219
This event has passed.

The Bipartisan Policy Center traveled to Richmond for a discussion of how the private sector can help bring infrastructure projects online sooner. Members of BPC’s Executive Council on Infrastructure, together with public and private sector leaders, explored the national opportunity for expediting deployment of new infrastructure, promising approaches to private sector involvement, and the U.S. role in meeting international economic and environmental goals.

During the event, BPC released model P3 enabling legislation. This tool draws from Virginia’s existing law. The model creates broad authority for states and localities to enter into public-private partnerships for all types of infrastructure through a process that encourages private sector involvement and protects the public interest.
