This event has passed.

Over the past year, the government of Uzbekistan’s new president, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, has launched an ambitious reform agenda at home, and a new push for regional integration and cooperation abroad. Having largely overlooked the region for the last decade, it might be time for the United States to start paying attention to developments there: How real are these efforts at reform? What are the impediments and risks involved? And what are the implications for U.S. policy and interests?

Please join the Bipartisan Policy Center for a discussion with experts who have just returned from Uzbekistan to examine recent developments there.
