There is urgent need to bolster the resilience of our nation’s farms, rangelands, and forests to the increasing threat of wildfires, droughts, and other climate-driven risks. BPC’s Farm and Forest Carbon Solutions Task Force recently released five federal policy priorities for innovative federal agriculture, forest, and climate policies that can deliver substantial economic and environmental benefits. Join us for a conversation on policy opportunities this Congress, as well as looking ahead to the upcoming Farm Bill negotiations taking place next year.

Rep. Joe Neguse (D-CO) will join former Senators Heidi Heitkamp and Saxby Chambliss, co-chairs of BPC’s Farm and Forest Carbon Solutions Task Force, to discuss how communities in Colorado and across the west are on the frontlines of wildfire threats, and how smart investments in wildfire mitigation, land management, and forest restoration can pay major dividends for the climate and local economies. Quill Robinson from the American Conservation Coalition will then join the co-chairs to explore the Rooted in America project to elevate awareness of the power of nature-based climate solutions.
