The Biden Administration has applied a whole-of-government approach to addressing climate change-related issues. In line with that approach, the Securities and Exchange Commission has also prioritized climate-related issues through the creation of a new senior-level position, a designated task force, updated enforcement policies, and a request for public input on climate-related risk disclosure. Their work has culminated in the release of a SEC proposed rule on climate-related risk disclosure.
Join BPC Senior Advisor Tim Doyle for a discussion with former SEC Commissioner Troy Paredes as they discuss what’s in the proposed rule and its potential impact on publicly traded companies.
Topics will likely include:
- The standards and framework to be used for disclosure.
- Applicability of scope emissions.
- Liability and assurances of the data disclosed.
