Higher education institutions are facing campus controversies—often with national media attention—over speech and academic freedom issues. These have led to declining public trust and lawmakers seeking to interfere in campus governance.

Over the past year, the Bipartisan Policy Center’s Academic Leaders Task Force on Campus Free Expression has worked to develop strategies to navigate these controversies, strengthen commitments to open inquiry, build an inclusive campus community, and prepare Generation Z as citizens and civic leaders.

Please join us for the release of the task force’s report, Campus Free Expression: A New Roadmap, a strategic guide for campus leaders about how to foster a free expression culture that honors their institution’s unique history, mission, and community and commitments to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
