BPC Takes Part in Webinar on the Sequester

On Monday, the National Association of Development Organizations (NADO), in partnership with BPC, hosted a webinar on the looming sequester and its potential impact on the local level. Economic Policy Project Senior Policy Analyst Shai Akabas outlined the sequester’s mechanics, the implications for specific domestic programs, and the political situation going forward. In June, BPC’s Task Force on Defense Budget and Strategy released a report that described the impending sequester as fiscal, economic and national security “folly,” and called for congressional action beginning now to repeal and replace the legislation with a broader fiscal plan that encompasses entitlement and tax reform.
