Who: Health Innovation Initiative
What: Join the Bipartisan Policy Center (BPC) and TechNet in App, Map, Cloud, Code, Gadgets, Widgets & Digits: What’s Next for the Innovation Economy?, a moderated panel discussion with technology industry leaders to discuss what’s next through the lens of public policy and Washington. Panelists will discuss the challenges and opportunities ahead for the innovation ecosystem.

Who: Turkey Initiative
What: BPC’s Turkey Initiative will host Turkey’s Local Elections: Results and Implications, a panel to discuss the results of Turkey’s local elections on March 30 and their significance for Turkey’s domestic political struggles, foreign policy and relations with the United States. The discussion will build on analysis from the BPC paper, Turkey’s Local Elections: Actors, Factors, and Implications.

Who: Energy Project
What: Join the Bipartisan Policy Center’s (BPC) Energy Project and the National Association of Regulatory Utility Commissioners (NARUC) for State, Regional and Company Approaches to Reduce Power Sector GHG Emissions, the third workshop in a series on Greenhouse Gas (GHG) Regulation of Existing Power Plants under the Clean Air Act. What: BPC is hosting an event on April 7 to launch a new Long-Term Care Initiative, co-chaired by former Senate Majority Leaders Tom Daschle and Bill Frist, former Governor and HHS Secretary Tommy Thompson, and former CBO Director Alice Rivlin. The initiative will raise awareness among policymakers about the need to develop a sustainable means of financing and delivering long-term services and supports, and will issue policy recommendations in late 2014.

Who: Financial Regulatory Reform Initiative
What: Please join BPC’s Financial Regulatory Reform Initiative in Dodd-Frank’s Missed Opportunity: A Road Map for a More Effective Regulatory Architecture, for the release of bipartisan recommendations for the U.S. financial regulatory architecture. Panel discussion featuring the co-chairs of BPC’s Regulatory Architecture Task Force, Richard H. Neiman and Mark Olson.

Who: Energy Project
What: Navigating the Oil Frontier: The Implications of the Tight Oil Boom on Arctic and Ultra-Deepwater Oil Development is the fourth session of the New Geopolitics of Petroleum and Natural Gas Series. The event will feature two panels, “Assessing the Need for Frontier Oil in an Unconventional World”, which will consider the potential for competition from unconventional oil, and “Navigating the Frontier” Science and Safety Concerns”, which will consider specific challengers associated with the Arctic’s unique geology and environment.
