Bill Gates, Jeff Immelt and other leading American business innovators held a press conference on June 10, 2010 in Washington, DC to highlight their detailed recommendations to Congress and the President to revolutionize U.S. energy innovation.

The group, the American Energy Innovation Council (AEIC), released a “business plan” that outlines fundamental changes in U.S. energy innovation to increase American economic competitiveness, diversify our energy sources, and produce more abundant, clean, low-cost energy.

The Council is chaired by former DuPont CEO Charles Holliday, and along with Gates and Immelt the group includes former Lockheed Martin Chairman Norm Augustine, Xerox CEO Ursula Burns, Kleiner Perkins Partner John Doerr and Cummins Chairman Tim Solso.
