Event Recap – Energy Leaders: America Must Capitalize on Innovation

Throughout its history, America has often relied on ingenuity and innovation to solve some of our most difficult problems. Significant progress has been made in reducing cost and improving the performance of low-carbon energy technologies, but the scale of the challenge that remains presents one of the most demanding tasks ever undertaken. Encouragingly, the obstacles to this transformation also present tremendous economic opportunities. An unparalleled history of innovation demonstrates how exceptionally well-positioned the United States is to capitalize on the energy opportunity.

BPC and the Edison Electric Institute hosted a discussion with some of our nation’s most influential leaders on energy innovation. We examined the respective roles of the public and private sectors in realizing the full potential of this opportunity, as well as growing congressional support for energy innovation.
