Co-Chair, Housing Commission; Former Governor of Missouri and Senator
Christopher S. “Kit” Bond co-chairs BPC’s Housing Commission. He is a former senator from Missouri. Bond became known as an advocate for improving public housing, enhancing community development, reducing lead-paint poisoning among children in public housing, and fighting to end homelessness.
Board Member; Co-Chair, Housing Commission and Immigration Task Force, Former Secretary of Housing and Urban Development
Henry Cisneros, a BPC board member, co-chairs BPC’s Housing Commission, Immigration Task Force, and Senior Health and Housing Task Force. He served as the secretary of the Department of Housing and Urban Development in President Bill Clinton’s administration.
Co-Chair, Housing Commission, Former Secretary of Housing and Urban Development and Senator from Florida
Mel Martinez co-chairs BPC’s Housing Commission and Senior Health and Housing Task Force. He served as a senator from Florida from 2005 to 2009. He is currently the chairman of the Southeast U.S. and Latin America for JPMorgan Chase & Co.
Co-Founder; Former Senate Majority Leader
George J. Mitchell is a BPC co-founder and co-chair of its Housing Commission. He served as the Senate majority leader from 1989 until 1995. After leaving the Senate, Mitchell was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom for his role in negotiating a peace agreement in Northern Ireland.
Allyson Y. Schwartz
Co-Chair, Senior Health and Housing Task Force; Former Representative from Pennsylvania
Allyson Y. Schwartz co-chairs BPC’s Health and Housing Task Force. She is a former member of the House of Representatives for Pennsylvania (2005 to 2015) and is a nationally recognized leader on health care issues.
Co-Chair, Senior Health and Housing Task Force; Former Representative from Minnesota
Vin Weber co-chairs BPC’s Health and Housing Task Force. Weber served in the House from 1981 to 1993, representing Minnesota’s 2nd Congressional District. He was a member of the Appropriations Committee and an elected member of the House Republican Leadership.
Chief Medical Advisor
Anand Parekh is BPC’s chief medical advisor providing clinical and public health expertise across the organization. Prior to joining BPC, he completed a decade of work at the Department of Health and Human Services, serving as deputy assistant secretary for health from 2008 to 2015.
