In January 2019, President Trump enacted the Foundations for Evidence-Based Policymaking Act (P.L. 115-435), which was passed by Congress with overwhelming bipartisan support. The new law paves the way for big reforms to federal evaluation policies in coming years. Agencies will be expected to expand their capacity for engaging in program evaluation, including by designating evaluation officers, developing learning agendas, producing annual evaluation plans, and enabling a workforce to conduct evaluations. Join experts from across federal agencies to learn about why these provisions matter for the American public, and strategies for effectively implementing the Evidence Act’s evaluation provisions.
