This event has passed.

Of the 73.6 million children in the U.S. today, almost 20 million are under age five. They are America’s most important asset as future innovators, workers, and leaders upon whom our nation’s long-term security and prosperity depends. But they are also vulnerable, with tens of millions of youngsters growing up in environments and under circumstances that prevent them from developing their full potential.

During this event, we released the recommendations of our Early Childhood Initiative, led by Sen. Rick Santorum and Rep. George Miller to explore how to maximize children’s earliest years, providing better support to families, and building stronger communities.
