John Bovenzi co-chairs BPC’s Failure Resolution Task Force. He joined Oliver Wyman’s Financial Services Practice in 2009 and is a partner in the public policy area, where he works on financial-market issues that impact both the public and private sectors.

His work has included addressing corporate governance issues, failure-resolution planning, regulatory compliance, and bank funding issues. Before joining Oliver Wyman, Bovenzi served for over twenty years in senior level positions at the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC); the last ten as the deputy to the chairman and the chief operating officer. In the latter position, he directed the day-to-day operations of the FDIC, including those related to bank supervision, deposit insurance, the resolution of insolvent banks, and internal operations.

Bovenzi holds degrees from the University of Massachusetts and Clark University. He is the author of numerous publications, and was the editor of Managing the Crisis, the FDIC and RTC Experience.
