Jason Burwen is the associate director for energy innovation for the Bipartisan Policy Center’s (BPC) Energy Project. He is also the staff director of BPC’s American Energy Innovation Council, a group of current and retired CEOs that advocate for greater federal investments in energy technology innovation. His areas of focus include U.S. science and R&D policy, tax policy, financing authorities, and Department of Energy budgets. Prior to BPC, Jason consulted utilities on demand-side management program design and evaluation for FSC Group (acquired by Nexant) and reviewed renewable energy procurement policies and trends for the California Public Utilities Commission.
Jason holds an M.P.P. from the Goldman School of Public Policy and an M.A. from the Energy and Resources Group, both at the University of California, Berkeley. He earned his B.A. from Columbia University.
