Jason Burwen joined the Bipartisan Policy Center in September 2012 as a senior policy analyst with the Energy Project. Prior to joining BPC, Burwen worked as a senior analyst at the FSC Group, a statistical and economic consulting firm focused on demand response, rate design, and other behavioral approaches to demand-side management in electricity. Burwen also worked previously as a regulatory analyst with the California Public Utilities Commission, examining renewable energy procurement policies and analyzing trends in renewable energy power purchase agreements.
Burwen holds an M.P.P. from the Goldman School of Public Policy and an M.A. from the Energy and Resources Group, both at the University of California, Berkeley. His dissertation focused on factors affecting household energy technology adoption in developing countries, supported by observations from his fieldwork conducting a randomized-control trial of an improved cookstove project in Ghana. He earned his B.A. in psychology from Columbia University.
