Leading North American Retailers & Stakeholders Join Sens. Mitchell and Snowe to Launch an Alliance and Action Plan to Protect Workers in the Bangladesh Garment Industry

Washington, D.C. - North American apparel industry leaders will come together with stakeholders and supporters to announce the newly-formed Alliance for Bangladesh Worker Safety. The Alliance will release its action plan, “The Bangladesh Worker Safety Initiative,” which was developed through a process facilitated by former Senators George J. Mitchell and Olympia Snowe, through the Bipartisan Policy Center (BPC). The Initiative, aimed at protecting and empowering workers, elevates fire and building safety in Bangladeshi garment factories through comprehensive and measurable actions.
