Washington, D.C. – Former Congressman Rick Boucher, NRDC Director Allison Clements, and former FERC Chairman Curt Hébert will address attendees on Thursday, Feb. 7, 2013, on a report from the Bipartisan Policy Center’s (BPC) Electric Grid Initiative.
The U.S. electric power sector is undergoing a significant transition with implications for the cost, reliability, and environmental impact of the nation’s electricity supply. Yet there are a number of challenges that, if unaddressed, have the potential to raise the costs of this transition and impede improvements to reliability or the affordable delivery of cleaner energy resources.
Join BPC’s Electric Grid Initiative and its co-chairs as we present our bipartisan recommendations on how to address the challenges and opportunities posed by the transition to a more modern and reliable electric grid.
Jason Grumet, president of BPC, will open the event and Joe Kruger, director for energy and the environment, will lead a question and answer session with the audience after the co-chairs’ remarks.
The event is open to the press but reserved seating is limited. Press interested in attending should RSVP to rcalabrotully@bipartisanpolicy.org.
