Leaders in Energy Policy Headline BPC’s Greenhouse Gas Regulation Workshop

The Bipartisan Policy Center’s (BPC) Energy Project, together with the National Association of Regulatory Utility Commissioners (NARUC), hosted a public workshop about key policy design considerations for the regulation of greenhouse gases (GHGs) from existing power plants under section 111(d) of the Clean Air Act. The event also explored the use of economic modeling to understand the potential impacts of GHG regulations.

The three panels focused on: 1) state considerations and policy design issues; 2) important drivers that could impact carbon dioxide emissions from the power sector and 3) modeling impacts of different proposals under section 111(d). BPC included participants from state organizations, industry and environmental organizations.
